It’s back! It’s the best reason for midweek booze and takeaways and writing off everything you have planned for the evening. Four English clubs are in action and there are some hugely appetizing fixtures from continental teams, so all in all you’ll be spoilt for choice when filling out your betting slips.

Man City v Roma Chelsea v Sporting Tuesday 30th September: 19.45

Joe Hart will return to City’s line up on Tuesday to face a Roma side who have announced their return on European football with a rollover of CSKA Moscow. The Manchester side will face a tough test, and as such can be found best priced at 7/10 with William Hill. The draw is available at 16/5 with Bet365 and Roma are best priced at 9/2 with BetFred. We think goals could be great value here – Roma are an attacking side unlikely to compromise their play style away in Europe, and Rudi Garcia can be known to be a bit naïve in his plans against Europe’s finest. City, on the other hand have been scoring and conceding like they’re playing FIFA. Over 3.5 goals is available at 15/8 with Boylesports, and represents real value. Maybe we’re getting overly patriotic, but an English double of City and Chelsea also looks like fantastic value at almost 3/1 with William Hill.

Elsewhere in Europe, we can’t for the life of us figure out why Olympiakos are at 11/10 to beat Malmo in Sweden. The Swedes have picked up 2 wins in their last five in Sweden and fell to a disappointing Juve side 2-0 – whilst Olympiakos caused a huge upset against Ateltico last time out in Europe. Place it on its own or as part of an accumulator, at 11/10 with Ladbrokes and William Hill.

Arsenal v Galatasary Liverpool v Basel Wednesday 1st October: 19.45

Looking forward to Wednesday, a straight Arsenal win is a risky and valueless bet, best priced at 11/20 with BetVictor. However, to make more of your money, try an Arsenal to win/Both Teams to Score bet, which is a tempting 12/5 with Coral. Arsenal have looked weak from set pieces this year and could be punished by Galatasary, who are otherwise poor away from home. Liverpool v Basel is set to be a ground out and potentially dull affair. Liverpool have failed to find flow this season and Basel will try to hit Liverpool on the break. Try a Basel clean sheet at half time at 20/21 with Ladbrokes and sit tight for a boring 90 minutes of football. On the plus side, you’ll be profiting from it!

For our acca of the week, we are going to put the following games at over 1.5 goals. It comes out at near 5/2 with bet365.

Zenit v Monaco

Anderlecht v Dortmund

Ludogrets v Real Madrid

Sporting Lisbon v Chelsea

Man City v Roma

CSKA v Bayern
