Cheltenham Festival 2020 Day Two Preview

Welcome to Ladies Day!

It’s another action packed day at The Cheltenham Festival including The Coral Cup, Tiger Roll in The Cross Country, The RSA Chase and of course The Queen Mother Champion Chase!

Sadly, there will be no Altior attempting a third straight Champion Chase triumph today. This morning we have now received the shocking news that Chacun Pour Soi has been withdrawn due to an abscess. A depleted field which on paper leaves life much easier for Defi Du Seuill!

But the show most certainly goes on!

Defi Du Seuil now goes into the big race as a firm favourite although trainer Paul Nicholls will be slightly buoyed by the dramatic withdrawals as this will certainly bring Politologue into the frame!

Betting opportunities are OUT OF THIS WORLD today!

Check out the race schedule..

GUIDE TO TODAY’S TELEVISED RACES

1330 The Ballymore Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1)

Since Envoi Allen’s defection from The Unibet Champion Hurdle, this Gordon Elliot trained potential superstar is now the box office story of this race.

There has been a deluge of serious bets on Envoi Allen and would now amount to the shock of the week if he wasn’t to oblige.

8/11 best with William Hill.

Sporting John (9/2 Bet365) has shown great potential and might give the favourite something to think about.

TIP: Envoi Allen to win at 8/11 with William Hill

1410 The RSA Insurance Novices' Chase (Grade 1)

Fascinating open clash.

Champ (7/2 Bet365, Betfair, Paddy Power) has been market leader for some time although fears over his jumping prevail.

Minella Indo (7/2 Bet365, Betfred) is greatly respected after a good preparation and has Festival form after winning The Albert Novices Hurdle last year. Henry De Bromhead’s team are in great form after two wins yesterday and could pounce here.

Allaho (5/1 Bet365, Bet Victor, Betfred) for Willie Mullins and Copperhead (5/1 Betfair, Paddy Power) could both have a say in a fairly open contest.

TIP: Minella Indo to win at 7/2 with Bet365 and Betfred

1450 The Coral Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3)

Notoriously difficult puzzle to solve!

Canadier travelled well in this race last year and despite being rated 4ib higher may well put in a good show for trainer Willie Mullins. 11/1 with Paddy Power with up to 7 places paid!

TIP: Canadier 11/1 each way with Paddy Power and 7 places paid.

1530 THE QUEEN MOTHER CHAMPION CHASE (Grade 1)

The feature race of the day may have lost the lead stars in Altior and Chacun Pour Soi but a fascinating small field tactical race remains!

Defi Du Seuil (2/5 Bet365, Coral, Betfred) has been mighty consistent all season and this Champion Chase is now at his mercy.

His Cheltenham form is practically bomb-proof with previous wins in The Triumph Hurdle and last year's JLT Novices Chase.

He jumps elegantly and efficiently with finishing speed that should navigate the uphill hill finish in style.

The only viable dangers to Philip Hobbs taking this Grade One for the first time since 2002 are the Paul Nicholls' duo Politologue (9/1 Bet365) and Dynamite Dollars (Bet Victor).

Politologue certainly gave Altior a scare in the race last year, when pushing him all the way to the line.

Dynamite Dollars is definitely on the upgrade and needs to improve to figure here.

TIP: Defi Du Seuill to win 2/5 Bet365

1610 The Glenfarclas Chase (A Cross Country Chase) (Class 2)

It’s Tiger Roll time!

The dual Grand National winner will absolutely batter the bookmakers if he lands a hat trick in this engaging novelty race.

A deluge of cash on and off course is expected to be wagered on this Gordon Elliott trained legend. 10/11 with Bet365, William Hill, Unibet, Coral, Betfred.

Easysland (4/1 Betfair, Paddy Power) will be a major threat after performing well in this kind of race at Cheltenham and over in France.

Might Bite, the former Ladbrokes King George and Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up will definitely give each way backers some fun at 18/1 with Betfred, especially if he can recapture his Grade One form.

TIP: Tiger Roll to win at 10/11 with Bet365, William Hill, Unibet, Coral, Betfred
