(3.4 minute read)

The bookmakers could be on their knees by the end of today. After the near carnage of Day 1, they now must batten down the hatches for the twin pronged Irish torpedo that is Monkfish and Chacun Pour Soi! Welcome to Day 2 folks! It is Champion Chase day!

We’ll check out the best bets for the big race and remaining televised races in more detail and give our carefully selected Cheltenham tips with best odds from our partner firms, bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred, Coral and Boylesports.

It could also be the swansong for dual Grand National winner Tiger Roll who may or may not run for the last time in The Cross Country Chase

Let’s check out today’s schedule!

1320 The Ballymore Novices Hurdle (Grade 1) Winner: £52,753 ITV

1355 The Brown Advisory Novices' Chase (Grade 1) Winner: £73,854 ITV

1430 The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3) Winner: £42,203 ITV

1540 The Glenfarclas Chase (Cross Country Chase) Winner: £30,176 ITV

1615 The Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase (Grade 3) Winner: £46,423 ITV

1650 Weatherbys Champion Bumper (Grade 1) Winner: £31,652 Racing TV

For the first time, ITV 1 HD will be showing the first SIX races lives on TV and you can catch the last race on Racing TV. You can also watch races live with our partner firms bet365, William Hill, Betfred, Bet Victor, Coral and Boylesports providing you have placed a bet of £1 or more on the race you wish to watch.

The going is officially soft, good to soft in places.

1320 The Ballymore Novices Hurdle

A very competitive renewal of the mid distance novice hurdle championship. Bob Olinger (6/4 bet365, William Hill) for Henry De Bromhead leads the market and after Honeysuckle’s triumph in yesterday’s Champion Hurdle showpiece, the team will be confident.

However, Paul Nicholls has been waxing lyrical about his charge, Bravemansgame (4/1 Bet Victor). He is very much in the mix at decent odds after a great season thus far for the Ditcheat yard and is our selection.

SELECTION: Bravemansgame

1355 The Brown Advisory Novices' Chase

It is banker time again and possibly the nap of the meeting for many. Monkfish (2/5 bet365, Bet Victor) has been sensational this season and this will be a shock of seismic proportions if he does not oblige for Willie Mullins.

The Big Breakaway (9/1 Bet Victor) for the imminently retiring Colin Tizzard yard is probably the nearest danger.

1430 The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle

The traditional pin picker lottery of a handicap hurdle is always a tremendous betting heat! Grand Roi for Mrs Denise Foster substituting for the suspended Gordon Elliott holds favouritism at 13/2 (bet365, William Hill) whilst Dysart Diamond looks well handicapped and unexposed for Willie Mullins at 25/1 (bet365, Bet Victor, Betfred) and is our choice to land this.

SELECTION: Dysart Diamond

The feature race of the day may have lost a little of its sparkle after the withdrawal of Altior last weekend but it still leaves us with the fascinating debut of the highly regarded Willie Mullins powerhouse chaser, Chacun Pour Soi (4/5 William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred, Boylesports) at the Cheltenham Festival.

He should take all the beating providing he handles the Prestbury fences and undulations, but will be chased all the way to the line by reigning champion Politologue (12/1 Boylesports), the exciting Nube Negra (10/1 Bet Victor). First Flow (16/1 bet365, Bet Victor) and Put The Kettle On (9/1 William Hill) who all offer an exciting conundrum for each way backers.

SELECTION: Chacun Pour Soi

1540 The Glenfarclas Chase (Cross Country Chase)

A rematch between last year’s winner Easysland (10/11 Boyleposrts) and Tiger Roll (5/1 bet365, William Hill, Betfred). Very difficult to see the dual Grand National winner seeing out the trip again this time after an indifferent season.

The latest run at Navan was desperately disappointing and the recent withdrawal from the Aintree showpiece suggests all might not be well. Easysland should land this easily if back to his best.

SELECTION: Easysland

1615 The Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase

A very tricky puzzle to solve with plenty in with a shout. Sky Pirate (11/1 William Hill) was one of our ten to follow for this season and has been bang in form with a couple of decent wins and places.

Embittered is the 11/2 favourite (bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred) trained by Henry de Bromhead.

1320 The Ballymore Novices Hurdle: BRAVEMANSGAME
1355 The Brown Advisory Novices' Chase: MONKFISH
1430 The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle: DYSART DIAMOND
1540 The Glenfarclas Chase (Cross Country Chase): EASYSLAND
1615 The Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase: SKY PIRATE
