Everybody loves an outsider bet at The Cheltenham Festival!

So for those who like a fun each way flutter with some small change, we’ve selected some well-regarded horses who are priced at 25/1 or more!

Big priced winners are a regular feature at Cheltenham!

Who could forget Norton’s Coin landing The Cheltenham Gold Cup at odds of 100/1? Or Rachael Blackmore’s triumphant ride last year on Minella Indo in the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at 50/1!

The Cheltenham Festival is very competitive with the best national hunt horses in the country taking part.

We’ve selected four horses from this big priced category. One from The Unibet Champion Hurdle which Oli Bell of ITV Racing has been waxing lyrical about and several more from the handicap divisions!

We also have a selection from The Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup.

CORNERSTONE LAD, The Unibet Champion Hurdle, 1530 Cheltenham, Day One

Oli Bell of ITV Racing tipped this at The Cheltenham Festival preview show at Doncaster Racecourse last Wednesday and it’s easy to see why.

His form on the book is extremely noteworthy. He ran in The Fighting Fifth at Newcastle last November and gave former champion Buveur D’Air a good fright, losing out by just a short head.

He then went on to perform well in The New One Unibet Hurdle at Haydock and was just held by Pentland Hills and Ballyandy in a very tight finish.

Normally this kind of form would be fairly typical of a rank outsider, however, this is one of the weakest Champion Hurdles in recent years and there is plenty of speculation that the 2 mile premier hurdle event could be landed by an outsider.

If that’s the case, then this Micky Hammond trained 6 year old could be exceptional value at 33/1 (Betfair, NRNB and places 1-4, Bet Victor, NRNB and places 1-4, Paddy Power NRNB and places 1-4)

NORDANO, The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle, 1450 Cheltenham, Day Two

This Alan King 4 year old absolutely battered a field of seasoned handicappers at Ascot lately and although he might end up in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle, his first choice is still The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle.

He has seen his mark go up to 140 but he is definitely on the upgrade.

Worth taking out the 25/1 full ante post rules bet with William Hill.

MACK THE MAN, The Randox Health County Handicap Hurdle, 1410 Cheltenham, Day Four

Mack The Man has been a revelation for Welsh trainer Evan Williams this season.

His most noticeable win was in a valuable Sandown listed handicap after scoring in a minor handicap at Warwick.

He was desperately unlucky to be brought down in the prestigious Betfair Hurdle at Newbury when in contention.

His handicap mark is still winnable but he would need to improve further to figure in this competitive handicap. Progressive sort.

25/1 with Bet365 (NRNB, Best Odds Guaranteed)

CHRIS’S DREAM, The Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup, 1530 Cheltenham, Day Four

This Henry De Bromhead charge seems to have rekindled his novice chase form after a disappointing first season campaigning in the Grade 1 division.

He’s won twice this season including a decent win in the valuable Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park.

This is a fairly open renewal of steeple chasing’s blue riband but Chris’s Dream will have to improve to compete with the likes of Al Boum Photo, Kemboy et al.

However, his trainer’s horses are really coming together and Rachael Blackmore is guaranteed to give him a worthy ride.

25/1 with Bet365 (NRNB, Best Odds Guaranteed) and Betfred (NRNB).
