With only 10 weeks now until the start of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, we take a snap look at the best Cheltenham antepost odds and Cheltenham best bets with our partner firms, bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred and Boylesports.
William Hill are taking the stress out of antepost betting by including every race of The Cheltenham Festival as Non Runner No Bet!
Close behind is bet365 who are now advertising Non Runner No Bet and Best Odds Guaranteed on some of the feature races of The Cheltenham Festival including The Cheltenham Gold Cup, The Champion Hurdle, The Champion Chase, The Ryanair Chase and The Stayers’ Hurdle.
Betfred also in the mix by offering NRNB on The Champion Hurdle, The Champion Chase, The Stayers’ Hurdle and The Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Best Ante Post Bets
The Champion Hurdle: Epatante
The Nicky Henderson trained Constitution Hill has been the most talked about horse this season and possibly a few seasons before that as well, such is the regarded talent of this formidable favourite (1/3 Bet365, Boylesports).
However, the previous winner and runner-up Epatante hasn’t done much wrong this season and we know she stays the trip brilliantly so the 20/1 on offer with Bet365 (Non Runner No Bet, Best Odds Guaranteed) and Betfred (NRNB) looks decent enough each way value.
The Arkle Chase: Banbridge
Jonbon (5/4 William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred) should take all the beating as ante post favourite but the each way value currently lies with the Joseph O’Brien trained Banbridge who won the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockey’s Handicap at the Cheltenham Festival last year.
Has really impressed over 2 miles this season (including a course and distance win at Cheltenham) but limitations were exposed in his latest run over 2 miles 4 furlongs.
This clearly indicates the 2-mile option is the strongest preference hence the 25/1 with bet365 (ante post rules apply) for The Arkle is worth some speculative each way pennies at this time. 14/1 with William Hill but with the less risky NRNB option.
The Champion Chase: Greaneteen
With Shishkin upping in distance, the market domination of that horse and Energumene ceases to limit the betting potential of the 2-mile championship chase. This brings the tough and consistent Greaneteen into the each way equation with bet365 at good odds of 20/1 with NRNB.
The Ryanair Chase: Shishkin
Most ante post punters would probably run a mile at the mere mention of the slightly under-achieving Henderson trained superstar, but in terms of distance, Shishkin is unexposed at anything over 2 miles.
The Gold Cup has been mentioned but The Ryanair Chase must be the most tempting destination. 8/1 (bet365, ante post rules apply) could be incredible odds if the horse proves to be a revelation at this trip and Nicky Henderson has demonstrated time and time again his ability to bring horses back to the fore.
The Stayers’ Hurdle: Paisley Park
Very open market although Flooring Porter still looks to be the best around and good value at 6/1 with bet365 (NRNB). However, Paisley Park despite entering his twilight years is still producing the goods and cannot be discounted at 12/1 with Bet365 (NRNB).
The Plate Handicap Chase: Ga Law
The Paddy Power Gold Cup winner Ga Law is aiming for the 2024 Cheltenham Gold Cup. However, he should get a very competitive mark for this 2-mile handicap chase where he is great value at 14/1 with William Hill and with Non-Runner No Bet to boot.
The Cheltenham Gold Cup: The Real Whacker
There is some exceptionally poor value with this season’s blue riband of steeple chasing. If there is a short priced favourite at this stage (Gallopin Des Champs 6/4 NRNB) then you might expect horses like Protektorat, Bravemansgame and Noble Yeats to have some value about them.
Definitely a race to avoid for the time being although The Real Whacker at 50/1 (Bet365, Best Odds Guaranteed, NRNB) does catch the eye based on his recent two wins at Cheltenham.
He could be anything and is improving all the time. Without doubt, this is the best each way value Gold Cup bet for the time being.
