It’s finally here, the Christmas day of the footballing calendar, the Champions League final. Bayern Munich have reached the final twice in the past three years and are hoping to scratch their trophy-shaped itch by seizing victory over fellow Germans Borussia Dortmund and making it third time lucky. Here at HTB4F we’re bringing you some of top tips to make the big day more enjoyable by filling up that growing hole in your bank account with money you’ve snatched from the bookies!

Bayern go into the final as firm favourites with William Hill and Paddy Power offering the best prices at 4/5, the best odds on ‘underdogs’ Dortmund are with BetFred and BetVictor at a generous 19/5. This is an incredibly tough game to call as Bayern have a habbit of choking like an inexperienced girlfriend but could just as easily show up and dominate.Dortmundhave won in five of the last nine games between these two, whilstMunichhave won only twice with the other two games being drawn. This season howeverDortmundhaven’t been able to beat their Bavarian rivals, losing and drawing twice – the final could see them buck the trend.

Over the past four seasons these teams have dominated the Bundesliga with two titles apiece and an exciting brand of football that makes for superb watching. We could have a classic on our hands at Wembley.

Goals Guaranteed

Bayern have scored in every league game this season. Let that sink in for a moment. Both teams are likely to be without their defensive cornerstones with Mats Hummels and Holger Badstuber sporting injuries, Ladbrokes and Bet365 are offering the best odds, both giving 8/11 on both teams to score. With only a couple of exceptions there are AT LEAST two goals in EVERY Champions League final, given the attacking threats posed by both teams betting on over 3.5 goals looks tasty with BetVictor pricing at 21/10.

Who’s Scoring?

The real question ought to be who isn’t scoring. Goal-machine Robert Lewandowski is likely to be finding the net first as we can see Dortmund being quickest out of the blocks, William Hill are pricing the pole to bag the first goal at 13/2. In terms of any time goalscorers there are some dead certs to be snapped up.

Paddypower are offering 13/10 on Mario Gomez scoring anytime, however we reckon the goals are going to come from the midfield – Skybet have the best odds on Toni Kroos and Robben both scoring with odds of 11/4 and 12/5 respectively.

If you don’t fancy our first-goalscorer tip of Lewandowski you can have a bang on him scoring any time with BetVictor who are giving a generous 19/10. Although Dortmund have lost their midfield magician Mario Gotze to a hamstring injury, Coral are offering 9/4 on Marco Reus and are best priced on Polish speed merchant Jakub Blaszczykowski scoring at 5/1.

If you fancy a more daring punt, marauding right-back and big-game-player Phillip Lahm is priced at 56/1 to score last with BetFair and is this week’s hipster tipster hip tip.

And Now for Something Completely Different.

Thomas Muller is the bookies favourite to be named man of the match with the best odds with skybet at 8/1, why BetVictor are giving 16/1 on it being awarded to any goalkeeper. With both teams pummelling each other’s defences there’s likely to be a high number of corners, you can bet on there being over eleven corners with Ladbrokes who are offering 8/5. Finally we’re expecting a hard fought final and more cards thanClintonsso have a flutter on there being over 4.5 cards with Bet365 who have the best odds at 5/6.

Remember Ladbrokes are offering your money back to you ifDortmundwin, whilst BetVictor are offering to give you back your wonga if either team comes from behind (oi oi!) to win.
