With just a few days remaining until the start of Cheltenham Festival 2024, we pick out five of the best bets of The Cheltenham Festival week. We look at horses that may be overpriced and check out the best big odds Cheltenham each way shots.

1. Hunters Yarn, The Arkle, 1410 Cheltenham, Tuesday 12th March
On paper this looks to be an incredibly open betting market indeed, especially since long time race favourite Marine Nationale was withdrawn last week.
Plenty in with decent claims for this 2-mile championship. However, the one horse that stands out for me in terms of value and ability is the Willie Mullins trained Hunters Yarn.
He really impressed in his last run, winning a beginners chase at Fairyhouse by some ten lengths. He demonstrated a good engine and jumped well, despite a niggly error early in the race.
The 2-mile trip in the Arkle at Cheltenham will suit and the 6/1 with William Hill, Betfred and Boylesports is particularly good value.
2. Stumptown, The Ultima Handicap Chase, 1450 Cheltenham, Tuesday 12th March
This Gavin Cromwell trained seven year old has a great record around Cheltenham at 3 miles plus.
He ran brilliantly to come second in last year’s Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase. He registered his first course and distance win back in January in a decent handicap chase, carrying a big weight.
Stumptown is well handicapped to run another big race in the Ultima Handicap chase on Day 2 and looks good value at 10/1 with Bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred and Boylesports.
3. Bravemansgame, The Cheltenham Gold Cup, 1530 Cheltenham, Friday 15th March
The Paul Nicholls trained 2022 King George winner and last year’s Gold Cup runner-up has had a season thus far that has gone below expectations in many people’s eyes.
However, his consistency and staying ability is still not in doubt especially in The King George when he was hampered by Shishkin’s 2nd last fence fall and still managed to run the eventual winner to the line.
We know Bravemansgame stays the Gold Cup distance and with a little bit of improvement, he can definitely figure at the business end again in this year’s renewal. Cracking each way value at 16/1 best with Bet365.
4. Envoi Allen, The Ryanair Chase, 1450 Cheltenham, Thursday 14th March
Incredible to think that this Henry De Bromhead trained winner of this race last year was available at antepost odds of 20/1 last October.
This was mainly due to long time favourite Allaho’s position in the market. However, he is no longer in the race and Envoi Allen’s chances of regaining this crown are looking very much alive.
The trainer has reported him to be in “savage form” at home. He has had just the one run this season, an excellent performance in the Down Royal Grade One from last November, finishing a close second to Gerri Colombe.
Envoi Allen runs well fresh and has been well backed in recent weeks: 7/2 best with Bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred and Boylesports.
5. Predator’s Gold (each way), 1330 Cheltenham, Wednesday 15th March
Ballyburn will be all the rage for favouritism since rerouting from the Supreme Novices Hurdle.
However, the each way hot shot in this Grade One must be the Willie Mullins trained Predator’s Gold who has run very consistently since winning his maiden back in November.
He would have won a Grade One novice event at Leopardstown over Christmas had he not fluffed his lines at the last. He was genuinely held by Dancing City in his last run but appeared full of running all the way to the line.
I think we have not seen the best of this Gigginstown owned horse and based by his jumping action, he is set for a significant career over fences. He is open to more improvement and could sneak into a place at 9/1 best with Bet365.
