The 150th Open Golf Championship tees off at St Andrews on Thursday 14th July. We have rounded up five of the best bets from our partner firms Bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred and Boylesports.

We will focus on the value priced odds from the front runners but also identify The Open best bet outsiders: those with odds of 80/1 or more!!

Who’s offering the best Each Way terms?

Golf each way betting is a tremendously exciting way to place a golf wager over the course of a four-day major and with the firms offering vastly inflated terms compared to racing, the chances of landing a tidy sum are greatly increased.

Our friends at Boylesports are currently providing the best deal by paying 11 places at 1/5 odds. Betfred also in there with 10 places.

Boylesports 11 places 1/5 odds
Betfred 10 places 1/5 odds
William Hill 9 places 1/5 odds
Bet365 8 places 1/5 odds
Bet Victor 8 places 1/5 odds

Best Bets of the leading fancies

Xander Schauffele

Very much in form after his Scottish Open victory and creditable 14th in The US Open. He also boosted his form by winning the 36-hole JP McManus Pro-Am in Ireland recently.

Odds wise his highest price can be found at William Hill at 16/1(Paying 9 places), Bet365 (Paying 8 places), Bet Victor (Paying 5 places). However, the best value is arguably with Betfred who are offering 14/1 and paying 10 places.

Jordan Spieth

The 2017 Open Champion seems to produce his best form on links courses and his runner-up result from last year obviously comes into play. He also narrowly missed the play off for the 2015 event, eventually finishing fourth.

Should have no difficulties dealing with any windy conditions and looks a firm each way bet at 18/1 with William Hill (paying 9 places) and Bet365 (paying 8 places). He is also 16/1 with Betfred where 10 places are paid.

Colin Morikawa

Last year’s Open Champion, Colin Morikawa comes into this with two top 5 finishes in The Masters and US Open respectively and therefore bids to become the first to retain The Open Championship since Padraig Harrington back in 2008

But recent form is a slight concern with that poor performance in the recent warm up Scottish Open where Morikawa failed to make the cut. However, his odds look great value at 30/1 with Bet365 (8 places paid) or Betfred at 28s (10 places paid and Boylesports 25/1 (11 places paid).

Best Outsiders at 100/1!

Golf represents by far the most likely scenario whereby odds of 100/1 could produce a pay out! We have whittled down two each way possibilities from this group.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout

This very talented South African has been putting in some creditable performances recently on the PGA Tour and like most of his compatriots, he plays a good short game. He noticeably finished tied for second at The John Deere Classic which was a first top five finish in the PGA Tour. 125/1 with Bet365 (8 places) and Bet Victor (8 places) or 100/1 with Betfred (10 places).

Lucas Herbert

The Australian 25-year-old got himself into the mix here with a one stroke victory over Patrick Reed and Danny Lee in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship last autumn and thereby registering his first ever win on the PGA Tour circuit.

Demonstrates he has the potential to produce a run on the final day of tournaments as he was four strokes behind going into the last phase of the Bermuda tournament.

150/1 available with Bet365 (8 places) or 125/1 with Betfred (10 places). An extra place can be gained with Boylesports at 100/1 (paying 11 places).
