Betting Tips and Previews: International Football

Neymar will be keen to impress for Brazil, and we like the look of a bet on Brazil to win to 0, at odds of 6/4 with William Hill

After his eye-catching move to Barcelona last week, Neymar will be under-pressure to perform against Roy Hodgson's England.

International Friendly: Brazil Vs England

Sunday 2nd June 2013: 8pm

With all the toing and froing and will they or won't they, it seems that Brazil and England are set to meet again after fears the game could be cancelled due to safety fears were put down to a 'bureaucratic error'. Hodgson may be feeling a bit deflated following this news as having the game called off may have been England's best chance of getting any kind of result.

The squad is depleted due to injuries and the players look a bit jaded after a gruelling Premier League campaign; the only positive from this match may be that we have a chance to see a couple of fringe players in action, and see how they cope against the Samba kings. Brazil may have lacked a bit of magic in recent years, but against a threadbare England squad, we may just see a few sparks fly from the men in yellow.

Wasted trip for England?

Brazil are extremely heavy favourites for this game, and we have to say that we're with the bookies on this one; watching England's limp performance against the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday night didn't exactly stir the coals of patriotism within Three Lions' fans. Brazil are best priced at 8/13 with Ladbrokes and Coral. The draw is at 11/4 with Betfred, whilst England are 3/1 with Bet365 and SkyBet.

We like the look of a 2-0 Brazil win here: England looked very toothless against Ireland, and Brazil should have a couple of goals in them, at least. The 2-0 home win is at a handsome 15/2 with BetVictor.

How do you like it? Mour-a, Mour-a, Mour-a!

Paris Saint Germain's Brazilian prodigy Lucas Moura may be set for a start against England, and looks like a good bet for Anytime Goalscorer. The attacking-midfielder has an eye for goal, and can be found best-priced with SkyBet at 9/2.

Chelsea's very own David Luiz would love to grab a goal against England. Considering his attacking potential from centre-back, Paddy Power's offer of 7/1 on the Sideshow Bob lookalike to score looks very tempting!

Left out in the Cole-d?

After starting for England against Ireland to recieve his celebratory cap and captain the team, we may see Ashley Cole on the bench for the Brazil game, especially considering Hodgson will want to see how well Leighton Baines will do if he is to become England's first-choice left-back. Ladbrokes are offering a decent 9/2 on Baines starting ahead of Cole, and we like the look of this a lot.

Finally, William Hill are offering 6/4 on Brazil being the only team to score on Sunday. As we said before, we're not fancying this threadbare England squad to offer much going forward, so this looks like a good bet.
