This David O’Meara trained five-year-old comes into this as race second favourite. Despite being well beaten in last year’s Ayr Gold Cup, his chances are greatly enhanced by the horse having proven form over soft ground and being in a rich vein of form.

Goldmoyne
Having won twice in Ireland over 7 furlongs and a fistful of wins over the all-weather, Goldmoyne comes here with a good chance if the race is run at a strong gallop as this six-year-old likes to come off the pace with a late run. Best odds of 16/1 with William Hill.
Eternal Sunshine
If Eternal Sunshine can overcome a poor run last time out, he stands a good chance on the best of his form having finished 3rd in last year’s Ayr Bronze Gold Cup and having won the Portland.

decisively in a valuable York handicap last autumn and will certainly relish the soft going.

Far Above Dream
This James Owen trained four-year-old has been in cracking form this season and looks to be well treated at the weights as well. However, the horse did not seem to appreciate the track last year in this same event and never seemed to hit top gear, finished 15th.
This is a crucial factor to consider but the horse is in better form this time around, so a bold run is expected. Best odds of 7/1 with Bet365, Betfred and Boylesports paying 6 places for each way bets.
Fine Interview
No doubt the main soft ground specialist in the field. He has excellent winning form at 6 furlongs and finished 7th in a tight bunch finish in a valuable handicap at the York Ebor meeting.
He should come on for that run and looks interesting each way value at 9/1 with Bet365 paying 6 places for each way bets.
Stratusnine
This Hugo Palmer trained four-year-old has a course and distance win as a two-year-old and he comes here in cracking form after being placed at the York Ebor Meeting and being placed in the Steward’s Cup at Glorious Goodwood.
His handicap mark is not ideal although he gets a handy 5ib pull on the weights due to his apprentice rider on board. Best odds of 14/1 with Betfred and Boylesports.
