With just two days to go until the Cheltenham Roar greets the start of the first day of The Cheltenham Festival, we summarise the 10 best Cheltenham 2023 bets of the week.
This list is a combination of ones we’ve selected and also ones mentioned by expert pundits and presenters from Cheltenham previews held in the last week or so.

Day 1 Tuesday 14th March
The Supreme Novices Hurdle: Facile Vega
One of the most talked about bets of the week. It seems that punters, experts and pundits alike are split down the middle on whether this Willie Mullins favourite is a good thing or not. His last run is the main debating point.
Finishing 5th in his main warm up race for The Supreme is not an ideal preparation but the mistakes made in that race have been analysed and apparently dealt with.
According to the yard we will see a completely different horse and more crucially, Willie Mullins has stated this horse as his best chance of the week. That’s enough for us.
Best odds 2/1 with bet365, Bet Victor, Betfred and Boylesports.
The Ultima Handicap Chase: Happygolucky
Tipped up by David Jennings of The Racing Post, this horse finished second in the race two years ago, on a good mark and a big run is expected. Best odds 14/1 Bet365, Betfred, Boylesports paying six places.
The Mares Hurdle: Brandy Love
Another selection from David Jennings and another entry from Willie Mullins. Great each way opportunity now that her price has drifted from 6/1. 8/1 now with Bet Victor, Betfred and Boylesports.
Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle: Jazzy Matty
Trainer Gordon Elliott has a good record in this race having won it three times. Jazzy Matty has had an indifferent season although his second to Comfort Zone where he beat the current favourite Tekao along with his rating of 125 definitely puts him in with a shout.
16/1 best odds with bet365 and paying 6 places with Best Odds Guaranteed.
Day 2 Wednesday 15th March
The Brown Advisory Novices Chase: Gerri Colombe
We already mentioned this in our bankers preview and this we feel is the Cheltenham banker of the week.
This is also by Gordon Elliott’s own admission, his best chance of a winner this week. Still very backable at 6/4 with Bet365, Bet Victor, William Hill, Betfred and Boylesports.
The Grand Annual : Rouge Vif
This horse was actually considered a serious Champion Chase contender a couple of years ago when bolting up in a graded 2 mile chase at Cheltenham but failed to live up to expectations ultimately. He has slipped down the weights and worth taking a chance in this. Best odds 14/1 Bet365
The Pertemps: Good Time Jonny
Heavily tipped entry who has been well backed all week from 20/1 down to current best price 12/1. He has good experience of the course and a bold run is expected. Best odds 12/1 with Betfred.
Day 3 Thursday 16th March
The Ryanair Chase: Envoi Allen (betting without Shishkin)
The reinvigorated Shishkin should take all the beating but the current price of another reinvigorated entry, Envoi Allen, is very interesting. He showed he has retained all his original zest with the Down Royal Grade 1 win back in November.
A line can be put through his King George flop: the track didn’t suit. If he can get round unscathed, Cheltenham will be much better suited to his strengths. Best odds 11/1 Bet365.
The Stayers Hurdle: Paisley Park
If all the main players in the Stayers Hurdle, Blazing Khal, Teahupoo and Flooring Porter are all off the bridle going over the last, you would want to be on Paisley Park is he is still in touch.
He maybe in his twilight years but he never knows how to throw in the towel. Our each way tip also in our Stayers Hurdle preview. 14/1 best odds with William Hill, Bet Victor, Betfred and Boylesports.
Day 4: Friday 17th March
The Gold Cup: Minella Indo
As already featured as a good each way bet on our Best Each Way Long Shots and Gold Cup previews.
