Arsenal vs Man Utd

In years gone past Arsenal vs Man Utd was THE game to watch. Viera going to war with Keane, pizza flying through the air and slapping managers in the face – there was always a brilliant scandal to unfold in what was guaranteed to be a superb game that would often decide the title.

Cut to 2013 and it’s a little different, United have been crowned champions of the Premier League thanks to the magical feet of Robin van Persie and are sitting pretty on their 20th top flight title. Sunday sees the footballing equivalent of the dick from work who stole your girlfriend coming round to tell you how happy they are and that they’re getting married, with the return of RVP to the Emirates.

But still, the race for fourth is well and truly on. Spurs’s surprise win against City has meant that this game is looking pretty much must-win for the Premier League’s most in-form team. I can’t see United rolling over for them though. You can get 4/11 on both Arsenal and Chelsea finishing in the top four with Coral, whilst Spurs can be found at 10/11 with Bet 365.

The Result

Arsenal have to go for the win here, they haven’t lost in their last six games and have very much turned their season around from the mess that developed at the start of the season. They are without target man Olivier Giroud, which some would say is a blessing, but with Podolski’s ankle problem hindering him we could see Gervinho down the middle… Which wouldn’t be ideal. I’m going to be bold and tip them to edge this one against a United side who have already won and could get caught out away from home. William Hill are offering 13/10.

BUT it's never wise to bet against Man United, especially when they're at 11/5 to win with William Hill. These are ridiculous odds, so get on them.

Robin Returns

You just know that RVP is going to show up and smash one home, not only because he does it all the time but because he’s facing his old club. I’m tipping him to score any time with Betvictor at 6/4.

Theo Walcott has been a little quiet recently, but his ability to set a game alight is going to be a big factor in the success of Arsenal against the champions tomorrow. At 12/5 with Skybet Theo scoring any time is a decent punt.

If like me you’re expecting lots of goals tomorrow, then a bet on over 2.5 goals with Sportingbet is looking good at 7/10 to round off with.

Which Half is Worth the Watch?

Given that Arsenal will be aiming to secure an early goal I’m going to tip that the highest scoring half will be the first half, if this happens then the second half could see some serious sitting back and absorbing of pressure. You can bet on this with Betfred and get 9/4.

Who’s taking the Lead?

You can set yourself up with some excitement throughout the game by betting on who is going to be taking the lead at different points. I’m predicting that Arsenal will be ahead after 30 minutes, this can be found at 12/5 with Ladbrokes. I reckon that United will claw back in the second half and be winning by 75 minutes though, again, Ladbrokes have the best odds with 19/10.
