Newcastle Vs Arsenal

Sunday 29th December 2013: 1:30pm

After a wobbly start to the season, Alan Pardew has got the Magpies singing. Seven wins out of their last nine games is a fantastic achievement, and they should prove a stern test for an Arsenal side who toiled to beat West Ham on Boxing Day. With Liverpool in action later on in the day, this is a match that the Gunners can't afford to lose.

Hedge your bets - a draw could be on the cards

That's right. Arsenal are a formidable unit, but Christmas is always a tough period for them and Newcastle will be ready to exploit any advantage that they can. Wenger's men are evens with Bet365 to take all three points, while Newcastle are way out behind at 3/1 with William Hill to win the match. The draw, which we like the look of, is 27/10 with BetVictor.

A high-scoring one might be on the cards as well between these two; and over 3.5 goals is a very tasty 19/10 with Unibet.

Remy-dy to all Geordie problems

Arsenal would love a striker in hot form right about now, and that is exactly what Newcastle have got in Loic Remy. The French hitman could trouble the Arsenal backline, and he is 21/10 Anytime Goalscorer with Paddy Power.

While you're at it, why not double up on him? To score two or more goals, Remy is a huge 16/1 with Paddy Power. He is in great form after all...

Chelsea Vs Liverpool

Sunday 29th December 2013: 4pm

After a massive game at Manchester City in which they impressed but failed to take any points home, Liverpool will want to prove their title credentials against a Chelsea team that Arsenal, United, and City themselves failed to beat.

Away from home though, they will have a tough task on their hands...

Scouse joy in Capital City

... but that doesn't mean they can't win. And we think they will. Chelsea are favourites for the game at 6/5 with Betfred, while the draw is 13/5 with Stan James. The Liverpool win is what appeals most however, and against a goal-shy Chelsea team they will not have a better chance than now. Liverpool are 5/2 with SkyBet to get the win on Sunday.

Even more outrageously, a Liverpool 2-0 win at 25/1 with Coral looks a great bet. Arch-tactician Mourinho would like to think he can contain the Reds, but his team have been shaky of late, and Liverpool will be going all guns blazing to take advantage of that.

Reds quick off the mark

We like the look of Stan James' 5/4 offer of Liverpool to score first (well, if we don't think Chelsea will score then why not?) and also Coral's offer of 13/8 on not Both Teams To Score.

But what of the goalscorers? Well, if you're feeling it, Luis Suarez is 15/2 with Paddy Power to score two or more goals.

The more conservative of you may want to just put him down for First Goalscorer. Ladbrokes will give you 5/1 on that.
