Tottenham Hotspur Vs Manchester United

Sunday 1st December 2013: 12pm

No-one really saw this coming at the start of the season. On the back of a record points total going into the new campaign, and a raft of expensively assembled stars, did we really expect Andre Villas-Boas to be under this much pressure so early? He now faces an almighty battle to convince people he is the right man for the job.

We could however, see David Moyes struggling in his first season in the Old Trafford hotseat. But crisis talks have halted for the moment about Sir Alex Ferguson's successor, and a win at White Hart Lane would go a long way to ensuring he gets some plaudits for making a go of 'The Impossible Job'.

Manchester United, but Spurs are not

United are going into this one off the back of an impressive 5-0 drubbing of Bayer Leverkusen, while Spurs must still be smarting after their mauling by City. United are 17/10 with BetVictor to win on Sunday, while Spurs are 15/8 with Betfred. The draw is 5/2 with Bet365.

A United win by one goal looks very nice and BetVictor will offer you a great 18/5 for this. If you fancy a scoreline as well, we'd be tempted to say this one will be low-scoring (given Spurs' inability to find the back of the net) and so the United 1-0 win at 17/2 with Stan James also looks good.

Shinji and the Wayne: a match made in heaven?

One is a genius, the other is prone to brief bursts of insanity if he's angry. We fancy the fiery Wayne Rooney to open the scoring on Sunday, and at 7/1 with Bet365 you better hope we're right.

If Shinji Kagawa starts behind Rooney, which looks possible given how well they played together on Wednesday night, then for First Assist it's very tempting to lay him on, especially at 12/1 with Boylesports. If ever he had an opportunity to prove Moyes he's worth the minutes on the pitch, it's now.

Chelsea Vs Southampton

Sunday 1st December 2013: 4:10pm

The year's expected package take on the surprise package, as Chelsea host Southampton in a fixture that Mourinho's men will be under a lot of pressure to win. After the awful showing in Basel, Chelsea need a positive result against Southampton to quell talk of unrest (are you watching AVB?)

That might just play into underdog Southampton's hand though.

Stale Chelsea play out stalemate

We're going to put our necks on the line and our money where our mouths are (and our clichés right where you can see them) and say this one could end up as a draw. Chelsea have lacked fluency but have eked out points, while Southampton have been very impressive in terms of fluidity and professionalism. Chelsea are 4/7 with Coral to win this one while Southampton are 5/1 with William Hill.

The draw is what we like the look of though, and SkyBet are offering a big 16/5 on that. Well worth a punt.

Hazard warning for Southampton

If Eden Hazard starts (and he should, but who are we to question the way of the Special One) then he is a good one to look at for Anytime Goalscorer. The Belgian is 11/5 to grab a goal with Ladbrokes in the later kick-off.

We also fancy this one to be a bit of a goal-fest: over 3.5 goals is a handsome 21/10 with William Hill, but odds are shortening fast.
