Swans to fly high

Swansea

(Form check: WLWLL)

Quite frankly it’s been a wretched season for Swansea so far, lying 19th in the table on Christmas day is no place to be!  The resiliency shown by the promoted teams has put pressure on the weaker Premier League sides but few predicted the Swans to be so deep into relegation battle. A slick passing side with some solid top division players I predict the Swans can find the form needed before it’s too late, the juicy 11/10 (at StanJames Bet Here!) being offered on them staying up will certainly be in a Christmas accumulator or two!

2017’s around the corner and with the January transfer window about to open positives can be found, they’ll defiantly be looking to shore up defence after conceding 37 goals so far this season. With this in mind plenty of value can be had in today’s fixture with most of the bookies predicting goals goals goals! Swansea to keep a clean sheet looks big at 13/5 (with LadbrokesBet Here!) but even more so the correct home score to nil looks a shade higher than standard, take Swansea 1-0 (10/1 with Bet365Bet Here!) or 2 – 0 (15/1 with Bet VictorBet Here!).

Only two long term injuries for Swansea with Ki Sung-Yueng and Frederico Fernandez sidelined.  Jack Cork and Leroy Fer look to hold to allow the pace of Barrow and Routledge to create chances for target man Fernando Llorente. I warn this is speculation though as in Bob Bradleys first 10 games he has failed to name the same team twice! One man who will definitely be starting is the aforementioned Gylfi Sigurdsson. The star turn of this team he could (and should!) be in a team pushing for top 6 and has on many occasion rescued the Swans. Sigurdsson to score 2 or more goals - 10/1! (with BoylesportsBet Here!)

West Ham

(Form check: DLDWW)

With two wins on the bounce Slavan Bilic has stoked a little fire in the belly of West Ham but looking closer at the matches they were actually quite fortunate to win, especially last time out in the 1-0 over Hull.  After last season’s surpassed expectations West Ham were always going to experience difficulty this season but particularly the away form is worrying, winning once. One stat that might encourage Hammers fans though, they’ve scored in all but one away games this season! (Fancy two goals for West ham? Best priced 5/4 with SkyBetBet Here!)

With goals at both ends West Ham make an entertaining game but they are particularly dangerous at set pieces, 47% of their goals this season have come from a dead ball situation. Winston Reid, Antonio and Andy Carroll are all likely candidates to grab a goal in this game but Cheikhou Kouyate looks overpriced at 8/1 (with CoralBet Here!) considering he joins the others in the box on each occasion. Set piece maestro Dimitri Payet whipping those balls it’s hard to see West Ham not scoring one!

The hammers have a few injuries to fringe players but their first team looks fully fit, apart from the suspension to Pedro Obiang. Bilic has recently swapped to a 3-4-3 (The Conte formation!) which has shored up defence and allowed Payet a little more freedom. Personally I don’t think this is a long term solution and bigger problems lay with the actual technical ability of several team members, Carroll, Noble, Ogbonna and Randolph are questionable top 10 players. It’ll certainly be interesting what and if Bilic is allowed to spend in the coming month.

SUMMING UP!

I’m pilling more misery onto those Hammers fans and voting Swansea for the win. The last three repeats of this match have been draws, but both teams were in much better form, could keep a clean sheet and didn’t need the three points as much! Swansea at home are a different team, with 80% pass success and 13% goal conversion rate. West Ham simply can’t travel. Nothing complicated with this selection just pure statically based!
