One day to go!! The Cheltenham Festival starts tomorrow with the roar returning at 1330 for the start of The Supreme Novices Hurdle!
If you are still wondering where to place your bets for this week, look no further.

We have four selections, one for each day of The Festival as part of our best Cheltenham bets for the week. Whether you decided to form an accumulator or place as single bets, we think these selections hit the spot with value, reputation, and good form.

We felt it might be polite to let the ladies go first so we start our selection with a Willie Mullins chance in the Mares Hurdle on Day 1!

BURNING VICTORY: The Mares Hurdle, 1610 Cheltenham, Tuesday March 15th

You could say this Wille Mullins trained 6-year-old was exceptionally fortunate to win The Triumph Hurdle back in 2020 after Goshen’s astonishing capitulation at the last.

However, the horse has gone on to provide some good runs most notably in the latest Grade 3 Quevega Mares Hurdle at Punchestown recently where she proved a worthy winner. She also ran a brilliant second to Buzz in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last autumn.

Cheekpieces seemed to have helped her jumping and she looks a solid each way chance at 8/1 with bet365, Bet Victor, Betfred, Boylesports.

DANCING ON MY OWN: The Grand Annual Handicap Chase, 1650 Cheltenham, Wednesday March 16th

This Henry De Bromhead chase comes into the reckoning for The Grand Annual based on an eye-catching defeat of current race favourite Buddy Rich in a beginner’s novice chase at Killarney last autumn.

He should be primed for this and wouldn’t be sent over from Ireland by the yard unless he could pick up something. Punters seemed to have latched onto him and he’s come in from 20/1 and now best available at 14/1 (William Hill)

DINOBLUE, The Mares Novices Hurdle, 1650 Cheltenham, Thursday 17th March

Willie Mullins and JP McManus combining has to be a savage collaboration on all fronts and this novice mare hurdler DinoBlue looks the real deal after a stunning debut in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel back in January.

Willie Mullins knows this race very well having won five of the last six renewals of this event. The only concern is the lack of experience in most likely a big field. However, this horse has bags of talent based on his first run and could be anything.

Dinoblue has been very well backed in recent days with punters steaming in from a price of 5/2 now into 9/4 best with bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor and Boylesports.

GALVIN, The Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup, 1530 Cheltenham, Friday 18th March NAP OF THE WEEK!

The Blue Riband of steeple chasing, The Cheltenham Gold Cup represents the crescendo of the meeting and its fitting that we save our best bet for last!

It’s a reasonable certainty that the Gold Cup should go to an Irish entry considering that four of the first five betting come from the powerhouse stables of Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliot, and Henry De Bromhead.

The latter certainly holds some good cards with reigning champion Minella Indo and Betfair Chase winner A Plus Tard at his disposal. However, we quite like the look of the National Hunt chase winner from last year, Galvin, trained by Gordon Elliott.

He has run impressively twice this season, putting in a brave and dogged performance against an almost possessed Frodon in the Down Royal Champion Chase last October.

However, this was bettered by an astounding run in The Savills Chase at Leopardstown at the tail end of December. He made most of the running, jumped for fun and when looked like he was fading before one out, proceeded to fight back to ultimately edge out chief rival A Plus Tard on the line by a short head.

It was arguably the performance of the season but more significantly I think he puts him narrowly ahead of his Gold Cup rivals as this proves he is a street fighter when it comes to a battle, and this is precisely what is needed to get up that hill.

Our selection for the week. Price wise, he is fluctuating with joint favourite A Plus Tard. Best priced 7/2 with William Hill and Betfred.
