We're only just into the second week of November, but this weekend sees the top two title contenders go head to head at Anfield, as Liverpool host Manchester City. A win for Liverpool would open up a 9 point lead over last season's champions. There's plenty of other intriguing encounters including Spurs hosting Premier League surprise package Sheffield United and Arsenal away at Leicester City. If you're having a Premier League wager this weekend, make sure you read this before you place a bet!

SPURS WIN AND BTTS (vs Sheffield United)

Tottenham play Premier League newcomers, Sheffield United on Saturday with the South Yorkshire side 5 places higher in the league than Spurs. Another surprise win for Sheffield United (11/2 with William Hill) will see a 6 point gap between the two sides open up.

Sheffield United have already beaten one north London side this season when they beat Arsenal 1-0 at Bramall Lane last month. An away trip to the capital will be a more challenging task. Chris Wilder's side have only conceded 8 goals in the league so far (one less than Liverpool) so will fancy their chances of grabbing something.

Despite the Blades unbeaten away record in the Premier League, I fancy Tottenham to get up for this one and take all three points. Pochettino's side have under performed for much of this season, but there have been signs of life in recent weeks. Spurs should have Son and Kane available for the 3pm game. Son is available having his red against Everton rescinded. If you fancy Son to grab the first goal of the game Unibet are offering 5/1!

Sheffield United have been more than credible on the road and I expect them to grab a goal (Tottenham have only kept one Premier League clean sheet), with Tottenham bagging a win! Betfair are offering 12/5 on a Tottenham win and both teams to score.

Goals Galore between Leicester City and Arsenal!

It's 3rd against 5th in the evening Saturday match with Leicester City six points ahead of Arsenal. Arsenal manager Unai Emery is under intense pressure after a period of very tepid performances over the last month. Leicester City on the other hand are full of confidence in a hot run of form.

Arsenal's last six games has only yielded one win, drawing four games and losing the other to newly promoted Sheffield United. It's not only the results, but the lack of quality which has been concerning for the Arsenal faithful. In many of the games Arsenal have been 2nd best and lucky to escape with a draw. You really wouldn't to back Arsenal to keep a clean sheet at the moment (22/5 with Betfair in this match if you are crazy).

Leicester City come into the game with a fully fit squad and have won eight of their last eleven home matches. Leicester won't fear Arsenal at the King Power having beaten the Gunners in the previous two seasons. Leicester City have been scoring goals for fun and will relish an error prone defence. Leicester City to score over 2.5 goals is 12/5 with BetVictor which looks tempting.

Arsenal and Leicester enjoy attacking and as such I'm going with goals galore in this one! Arsenal can't defend, Leicester can score plenty and Arsenal have firepower to score a couple at least. If this finishes 0-0 i'll be amazed! Backing Over 3.5 goals at 31/20 with Betfair is my best bet for the game!

Liverpool to win to nil (vs Manchester City)

Arguably the biggest Premier League game of the season so far! Liverpool could well put very clear daylight between themselves and last years champions. Liverpool will see this as a great chance to kick City while their down!

Liverpool have been near on perfect this season in the league, only dropping points away to Manchester United. Man City have been good, but not to the same standards as previous seasons. City have defensive issues which don't look like being resolved anytime soon. City have been workmanlike in many games rather blowing teams apart as they tended to do last season.

Last season both games were tight affairs and I don't see this game being a goals fest. Liverpool won't want to lose this game and I think because of that dynamic I fancy Liverpool to play on the counter and sneak a goal or two win to nil. Liverpool have a incredible backline. Liverpool win to nil at 9/2 with Betfair is a good price and i'll be backing it!

Liverpool vs Manchester City: Liverpool to Win to nil @ 9/2 with Betfair
